Henry Original Deluxe Engraved Rifle

~ By T. Logan Metesh

Original, engraved Henry Model 1860 rifles are examples of exquisite craftsmanship. Not surprisingly, this makes them hard to come by. Oftentimes, they were often reserved for important people: President Abraham Lincoln, Secretaries of War Simon Cameron and Edwin Stanton, and Secretary of the Navy Gideon Welles were all presented Henry rifles. (Interestingly, Lincoln and Welles received serial numbers 6 and 9, respectively. Cameron received serial number 119. Stanton received the coveted serial number 1.)

Inventor Benjamin Tyler Henry spared no expense on the rifles he presented to the four men listed above. Hand engraved and plated in gold or silver, they were fitted with fancy wood stocks made of black walnut, rosewood, or a premium selection of American walnut.

What do you think?

I would love to own one. I do own two Henrys. One is the Golden Boy in 22LR and the other is a 22 mag I just got in this past week. It is the Golden Boy in chrome. Both are beautiful guns. I love the action in both of these rifles. And I just have to wonder if the actions in the centerfire rifles are as smooth. My two Winchesters are just shooters but the action is rough. May need to put them on the auction block and order a Henry in 6.5 Creedmoor. Next on my wish list!

I live in Isle of Man a small self governed Isle .In the United Kingdom .I am also a firearms dealer I bought a -22 WMR golden boy for myself.
I waited three weeks for the rifle
I bought it for myself when it arrived the screw in the tang underneath by the lever was slightly proud it would not tighten down it caught your hands when you gripped it.
    The importer agreeded and so
did Henry .it just would not go down So now I have to wait 6 weeks plus another two weeks for proofing Maybe more .I tried repeatedly to speak to the owner ,they say you can , in the adverts but I was blocked from speaking to him so much for made in America
    Yours James
